4. The Collectors Catalog. This catalog contains 25 rare gemstones. It is intended for connoisseurs interested in acquiring unique specimens. Each gem is accompanied by a picture and a complete description (origin, color, clarity, size and weight).
The appearance of a gem as seen by reflected light is another optical property of gemstones and is called luster. The luster of gems is characterized by the terms metallic, adamantine (like the luster of the diamond), vitreous (like the luster of glass), resinous, greasy, silky, pearly, or dull. Luster is particularly important in the identification of gemstones in their uncut state.
Hello all. As Ive only just glanced through your newsgroup, Im not nessacarly sure what youre exactly about. Gemstones, of course, but what I mean is; Im not sure if its about the folklore of magickal applications, uses, properties, etc, or some other kind of folklore. So if my post is off topic, well, its not all together intentional.
