| 4. The Collectors Catalog. This catalog contains 25 rare gemstones. It is
intended for connoisseurs interested in acquiring unique specimens. Each
gem is accompanied by a picture and a complete description (origin, color,
clarity, size and weight). |
| The appearance of a gem as seen by reflected light is another optical
property of gemstones and is called luster. The luster of gems is
characterized by the terms metallic, adamantine (like the luster of
the diamond), vitreous (like the luster of glass), resinous, greasy,
silky, pearly, or dull. Luster is particularly important in the
identification of gemstones in their uncut state. |

Im not sure if its about the folklore of magickal applications, uses,
properties, etc, or some other kind of folklore. So if my post is off
topic, well, its not all together intentional. |
| We look forward to making this site one that will be there as a resource for
everyone who may like to know or share info about gemstones and jewelry as
well as other subject that may be related to these. You are also welcome to
post links to your own sites and/or start or join in on discussions of your
choice as long as it is on the topic/s. |
